  1. I am feeling fustrated :o( The scale isn't really budging. I have worked out hard every single day since we started on 1/5 (I put in 9 hours this week!!) and have been eating great. Grrrr....

  2. Hey Kristy, I totally feel you. 9 hours that's awesome!!!!! I feel like I'm kind of in the same situation as you. In the Team Up Slim Down contest still same situation, people were dropping big numbers and I kept fluctuating. But, in the end I did lose 8 lbs. I wonder if it's just takes longer for some people to see the results.

Are there other things that you are noticing?? For me one of the biggest things (and this is going to sound so dumb), is that before the last contest I was at Patterson Park with Chimber and Honey Dip. I had garbage and decided to run/jog to the garbage can which was really not that far (we were in the middle of the small park and the garbage can was on the side of the walking path). It was hard and I was out of breath when I came back. Now that wouldn't be an issue and it's small, but I'm definitely proud that jogging that short of a distance isn't a struggle.

Try to find small successes like that, it may help!!!

BTW Jacki, I tried a sushi roll with cucumber rather than rice and it was two thumbs down. I'm not too slick with the chopsticks as it is, so this was much more difficult. Not discouragement for others, please form your own opinions about the roll.

Sorry, I just wrote a book. have a great day and a great workout. I'll miss all of you and will do my best to stay on track while I'm away for the weekend :)

  3. Hey Kristy! Be patient, don't weigh yourself daily. The average person only looses 1 - 2 pounds a week. Which means, half way through the week the scale won't change! It is best to just weigh yourself once a week at the same time. So keep doing what you are doing, moving more and eating less. Let's see where you are on Sunday morning. I am confident you will see results.

  4. I'm heading to NYC next Wednesday through next Sunday and there isn't a gym available and I don't know what to do other than go for long walks (my friend's APT is really small and I don't know how much room I'll have to do anything). The friend I am visiting loves baking and it's hard to resist her cooking. How am I going to survive?

On a different note, I feel like I am doing terrible in this competition ... I am tired from still being sick and not doing as much as I would like. Hopefully I can turn things around. Sorry for venting on here.

  5. Hey Patrick... If you are going to NYC, there are gyms NYSC (I think that's what they are) probably every couple of blocks. I'm going away this weekend (upstate NY) and told my friend I had to do some sort of a workout. I think I'm going to the gym with her and some friends Sunday morning for a class or two. Hope you are feeling better.

I drank coffee this morning for the first time in two weeks and can't shutup, sorry for all my posts. It's the coffee talking.

  6. Patrick...I just moved from NYC four months ago. I know it's way too cold to walk in Central Park (unless you bundle up) but you can certainly visit NYSC and ask for a week guest pass to try out the gym. They have them all over. If you have to give an address you can tell them you are looking to move there or give your friends address. As for the baked good, I too love them and could eat a sheet cake it let loose. You just have to decide if you rather feel good about yourself for passing on them or guilty for eating them. It's not about how you feel in the moment but after you either walk away or choose to eat it. You can do it! I have the SAME issue!! I cannot do moderation either b/c one bite would set me off and I wouldn't be able to stop after that!

Kristy, as you know I am in the same boat with the scale. I stopped weighing this week and am taking small successes as improvement. It sucks to put 9 hours in and not see it moving I know but it will happen we have to believe it. I hope to see you tonight at 6 and will can chat more! Chin up!

  7. Patrick,
Earlier this year Rhonda had to go to NYC for a week for work. We went to Bally's website and found a free ?? number of days. It was more than a week. So Rhonda was able to work out every day...FOR FREE! Just go to Bally's print out the coupon and take it to the gym the first time you go. DON'T GO TO THE GYM FIRST! You can get a similar deal that way, but they make you meet with one of their sales reps. By the way, it inlcudes classes.

  8. I can't tell you how neat it is to read these posts/comments. What a supportive group! We will win with weigh loss. We should plan a healthy get together outside of the gym? I can throw my house out there, but it is small. Jacki's team last go around got together during the competition and at the end!
